I do see this blog as following Michael Ventris' organizing and publishing his "work notes" - everyone should think about emulating history's James Dean - forever handsome, forever young. While he explicitly described his notes as being for the other Linear B researchers, how many professionals in academia would have paid attention to an amateur? Until he struck gold.
