The Pyramidion

And here we are, at the nexus. Roger presents the legend of the Pyramidion, an Egyptian relic that confers great powers to the holder. Roger describes a vast timeless conspiracy (the Knights Templar are pikers to this bunch). The Lotus Jukebox is a similar artifact that mirrors some of the Pyramidion powers, and can lead us to the Pyramidion, and give us some idea of how to use it. Gol-ly!

At this point Roger shows how to order the bonus Lotus Jukebox disk. If we were to try to follow the pathway at this point without ordering the disk, Hypercard would break in and tell us that it could not find "Selections F".

I'm sure I stalled a while before I sent off for the disk - but I eventually did. And I received this letter:

I can't remember if I received this before 26 October 1991 - seems like I did. And shortly after I got this letter, I received the Pyramidion disk!!!

And the Pyramidion instructions:

Let's take a moment and look at the media for the ZBS auctions:

Here is how the Whirlitzer game sits on a Macintosh disk:

Where the Pyramidion disk contributes the 'Selections F' stack. The disks are all stuffed to the max with content, they are all jammed up against the 800K content limit.

The Pyramidion disk labels in the auctions are professionally produced at a printshop, with a nice glossy finish, and the label continues over to the other side with 'Pyramidion' printed on that side. My label is rough, straight from the home printer, and my label is firmly on one side. The disk is a different make, too. You can see that the label has faded and smeared with age.

I suspect that Roger had turned over all his materials to ZBS, and he had to produce my disk from scratch at his home. Shortly after this, Roger went on a sabbatical year to Europe, and after that he made a major career and life change. So I was very lucky to get my disk - I am not complaining. At all. That's what I get for hesitating.

We will start this new, extended adventure - next time.
